Distributor Spotlight: Raymond & Yolanda Brown

Raymond and Yolanda Brown continue to be amazing and consistent leaders in our Youngevity family. Leading by example and putting relationships first is their way of life. We can all learn from their experience and be inspired.

What do you know now that you wish you would have known when you started?

We have been in network marketing approximately 22 years. This business is truly about building relationships and building a culture of hope and love. We realize that not everyone may be interested in this business nor the product. We know we have products for everyone, but not everyone qualifies. When we first started we would just share with everyone and not qualify them. In most cases we would be convincing people. Now as we share – and for us our passion is Zradical – we have to listen, ask questions and work with those that qualify and want to build this business or use the product for their reasons and not ours. By doing so, we do not get rejected which makes this business fun and full of hope and love. We are hope masters.

You’ve built a strong team culture. In fact, you call your team The Majestic Eagles. What’s the significance of that name?

Eagles are the only animal when confronted with turbulent weather or let’s say life challenges – an eagle renews his/her strength, renews his/her mind. The Majestic Eagle rises above the challenge or storm with a vision that is unwavering. And it is well said in Isaiah 40:31 “But those who wait upon the LORD will renew their strength; they will mount up with wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not faint.”

What are your best tips for building a strong team culture?

Be transparent, be your authentic self. Love and accept people for who they are. Be the example for people to follow. Provide leadership and a system for your team. Build team culture which teaches principles that will work for all and not just for those that may be more gifted and or talented than others. We are all gifted and talented and it is up to the leader to develop the talents of individuals on the team.

What advice would you give someone who has doubts they can build a home-based business?

To be teachable/coachable and personal development is a must. There are no exceptions when it comes down to personal development. A person should align him/herself with people who are successful. Work with a mentor who will help you to take full responsibility of your life and your business.

Some time ago, you started a weekly Healthy Happy Hour. What is it that and how has it worked for you?

In network marketing people have meetings. And most people were tired of going to meetings. So we want people to have fun. This is not a job. So we call our weekly meetings, “Happy Healthy Hours.” We decided that each week we wanted to bring people together – Majestic Eagles of Youngevity and their guests. In fact, all Youngevity teams are welcomed. We come together each week to educate, empower and have fun. We want to create a culture where people can come and show love, to realize that we are sincere and passionate about our mission. Most of all, we want people to build a business, create another stream of income, and help support their dreams, but most importantly show love, dance and have FUN!

The Majestic Eagles have been a force in Youngevity’s promotions like Team Challenge. Why do you think your team has performed so well in these promotions?

Because our culture is to create an atmosphere of love and fun. Our system that we teach inspires and motivates our team to take part in promotions and to want to lead and do our best in our business every day – as well as in promotions. We teach our team that you win when you participate. So everyone is a winner just by saying, I will be a part of a team. And everyone likes to win and the only way not to win is to not play.

Looking back at your consistency and time as business owners, what are you most proud of?

We are most proud of being humble, knowing that we are blessed to have such a great team and to be a part of a company with a caring leadership team (Dr. Joel Wallach, Steve and Michelle Wallach). We are blessed that we have a platform to share our talents and help others to uplift themselves. We are most proud that we have developed a system that is duplicatable. We are most proud that the duplicatable system has helped us to build a team with one of the highest retention rates in the company. We are most proud of being able to say that we have found our home. We are SOARING TO GREATER HEIGHTS.
