Easy Ways to Spread Love and Kindness

February is the time of year when we typically focus on showing our love. Whether it is through gifts or acts of love, we want those in our lives to know how much we appreciate them. What if we put that same effort into other times of year? Or maybe we find ways to show kindness to those we come in contact with. Both approaches benefit the recipient and us, so it is a win-win situation.

Benefits of Showing Love

Yes, there are benefits to you as you show love to others. It builds your relationship with that person, but there are ways your body responds to your expressions of love. According to research done by Arizona State University, kissing can lower cholesterol levels, decrease stress, and increase relationship satisfaction. The study goes on to say: Kissing isn’t the only way to boost your health. Floyd and other researchers have found that communicating our positive feelings for others through words or actions offers a wide range of health benefits. These include lower stress hormones, lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure and a stronger immune system.

WebMD shared an article from Harry Reis, PhD, that says: There is very nice evidence that people who participate in satisfying, long-term relationships fare better on a whole variety of health measures. Some of the benefits he identifies are (there are more mentioned in the article):

  • Fewer doctor’s visits
  • Less depression and substance abuse
  • Less anxiety
  • Faster healing
  • Longer life

Easy Ways to Show Love

There are so many ways to show someone you love them. But how do you know what is best? Some say knowing the Love Language for those you are close to can help you tailor your affection. Not sure what your love language is or that of your loved ones? Take the quick test to find out. There are five languages:

  • Words of affirmation
  • Acts of service
  • Receiving gifts
  • Quality time
  • Physical touch

The interesting thing is that we may value a love language more than our loved one, so knowing what they prefer makes the act even more valuable.

Even if you don’t know which love language to use, here are a few easy ways to express your love:

  • Make time for them – and really pay attention
  • Send them random, cute messages
  • Leave a love note – in their car, on their pillow, or some place else they will find it
  • Get them their favorite snack/treat
  • Make their favorite meal
  • A random gift (nothing too expensive, but fun)
  • Give a handmade card or store bought card
  • Give them a hug

The great things about these ideas is you can do them any time. And you can adapt them to use with those you come in contact with, like a checker at the grocery store or your mail person. Imagine how you can lift a person’s day with a small act of kindness like a little treat or kind note.

Another way to express our love is by taking care of them. So make sure that they are eating healthy meals and taking their 90 For Life products and any other supplements that will help them live a long and loving life.
