Little Moments = Big Memories

Kids have the right idea – do what you like doing and enjoy every moment! As you take photos of those moments you’ll want to record them on pages so you have big memories. The It’s a Kid’s World by Lauren Hinds collection has so many designs that will make this a fun and easy project.

As I mentioned last week, this collection is unique in that it has two sets of 2″ Border Strips, which means four themes: Sports and School, Toddler and Magical Vacation. The Designer Cardstock, Pocket Border Strips, and Pocket Journal Cards all have colors and designs that support the 2″ Border Strips so that you can easily mix and match. For example, in this traditional layout the base is Designer Cardstock that is accented with 2″ Border Strips from the sports side. Then the journal card has green and blue hexagons which look great with the soccer theme, but work equally well with school or every day pages. Also, notice that Chelsea (who created this layout) used the Star Party Design Cartridge to make top and bottom borders for one of the photos and cut apart one of the border strips to add the word accents.

In the pocket page arena, we have this example using the Magical Vacation side from the 2″ Border Strips. Because those border strips don’t fit in the pocket page slot, I trimmed the 2″ Border Strip to 1 1/4″ and it slid in perfectly! I used the remaining piece and adhered it to a yellow polka dot Pocket Border strip and used that on the opposite side. I love that these products are so flexible so I can do things quickly without much effort or be creative and try new things.

These final pieces show how well the border strips and journal cards work together with the Border Maker System (which is on sale for the month of July). These 2″ Border Strips are from the Toddler set, but I think they can be used on any page, no kids required! And it is so fun to dress up journal cards with a punched border. You can see me make these in a video we recorded yesterday as part of Create with Us using Facebook Live (we do these every Wednesday at 2:00 pm MT and rotate between Heritage Makers, Our Memories for Life, and Anthology DIY, which will be next week).

I hope this gives you a few ideas of things you can do with this collection. Yes it says kids in the title but honestly, so many of these designs can be used for grown ups as well. So think out of the box and have fun creating beautiful pages with big memories!
