Get Ready for Convention – We’re Ready for You!

Are your bags packed yet? Planned out your schedule of break outs and activities? Set up times to meet with your team? If not, you still have time, well a little time. Here are a few things that may help you with your final plans and make your time at convention as productive and enjoyable as possible.

Self Care

Taking care of yourself needs to be a top priority. We think we are invincible and can do all the things, but the reality is, we can’t. Those late nights and early mornings can take a toll and affect your ability to focus. Plus, for most, all the walking and sitting is not in our normal schedule and soon your feet and back will let you know they’ve had enough. Try these tips to help your body enjoy convention!

  • Stay hydrated! You’ll be tempted to drink less so you don’t have to run to the restroom as much, but you need fluids, aka water, to help you concentrate and avoid fatigue. There are so many benefits to drinking water so if this isn’t a habit, convention is a great time to start. Plus, Youngevity has lots of options for getting the most out of your water like Pollen Burst and Rebound. Check the CORE for stick packs you can purchase.
  • Wear comfortable shoes. Yes we all want to look our best, but your feet will thank you for wearing shoes that fit well and provide padding and support for walking. Also, try to wear a different pair each day so your feet get a break. You may even want to switch shoes part way through the day. You’ll be amazed how much better your feet feel when you do this.
  • Watch what you eat. It’s okay to enjoy yourself, but too much rich food can throw your digestive system into chaos. When possible, stick to eating things you typically eat at home. Make sure you get vegetables and fruits each day. And then, enjoy a special meal or dessert. It is convention after all.
  • Be in the moment. There’s so much happening – people to catch up with, breakout sessions to attend, energetic general sessions, the CORE and so much more. You may be tempted to take notes on every word you hear or take photos of every activity, person, and event. Notes and photos are important so you can relive these moments, but take time to stop and just enjoy the moment. Get to know people. Absorb the energy around you. Let your brain process what you learn. And let the stress “to do all the things” go.

Plan Ahead

The last thing to think about is your daily plan. The Agenda is available so you can take time now, while life is a little less chaotic, to decide which breakout sessions most appeal to you. You may want to select a first and second option in case one is filled up.

Plan your meals so you can meet with friends or take a quick break. You need to eat so why not combine it with another enjoyable activity and make the most of that time.

Last thing, figure out how you’ll get from your hotel to the convention center each day. How long will it take? What do you need to take with you each day so you don’t have to run back to the hotel?

Are you ready?

This may feel like a lot but these few simple tips can help you have the best convention experience yet. We’re so excited that you are joining us in San Diego and can’t wait to share all the things we’ve planned. Safe travels to all!
