The daily stretch routine you need to start today
Stretching for Healthy Aging
Remember when you were in your teens and early 20s, and you could run, jump, and go all day and wake up feeling like a million dollars? Things change as you age. Now, sitting too long or even turning your neck to quickly can suddenly result in stiffness or sprains. The key to aging like a million bucks is making sure you’re keeping your body flexible. From morning to evening, we have the stretch routine you need to add to your days to keep you feeling healthy.
Wake your body up with some gentle movements. Start with a Seated Twist right on your bed. Then move down to the floor and perform a few Down Dogs and Up Dogs for a nice wake up.
Midday Stretch Out
Midday is when we all start to feel a little crash. Get your body back on track and some oxygen into your system with some movement. Give yourself five minutes to perform the following movements.
- Arm swings
- Trunk Twist
- Leg Swings
Evening Wind Down Stretch
Put your body in a state of relaxation and get it ready for restful sleep. Start with a Forward Fold and then come down to the floor for a nice Pigeon Stretch for at least one minute on each leg. Then relax into a Child’s Pose and stay there for another minute.
While many of us may think we don’t need to stretch, it’s the best way to keep your joints healthy and to help muscles relax after they’re put to work. Try adding this routine to your day and see if you feel a difference. Plus, you can add some Ultimate CM Cream to your routine that will also help support healthy joints.
Remember, prevention is the key!
