General Questions
1. Who is Sunset Gourmet?
Sunset Gourmet is a Canadian direct sales company that has proudly served Canada for 20 years, offering gourmet food products made with premium ingredients. They are known for quality, easy to prepare and great tasing food items.
2. Why is Youngevity partnering with Sunset Gourmet?
Youngevity has operated in Canada for over 25 years and has long sought the right Canadian partner to expand its presence. Sunset Gourmet aligns perfectly with Youngevity’s values, commitment to quality, and vision to grow within Canada and beyond.
3. Will Sunset Gourmet remain the same?
Yes! The Sunset Gourmet brand will remain intact. Current products will continue to be offered and new ones will be developed, sourcing from Canada when available. Customers and consultants can expect the same great products and service.
4. What changes should Sunset Gourmet Consultants and Customers expect?
For now, it’s business as usual with a twist. You’ll continue to order and operate as you always have through the Sunset Gourmet system. Your shipped orders will then automatically transfer to the Youngevity system by the next business day. These orders will be used to earn commissions. The twist is needing to place your qualifying order of 100 QV on your Youngevity Distributor account through the Backoffice or by contacting Youngevity Customer Service.
5. Will Sunset Gourmet products still be made and shipped in Canada?
Yes. Youngevity intends to continue current production and shipping of Sunset Gourmet products within Canada. There are plans to expand production and development efforts locally as well.
6. What roles will Perry Bohn and Audrey Stewart have going forward?
Both Perry Bohn and Audrey Stewart, founders of Sunset Gourmet, will continue working closely with Youngevity. Their leadership and vision will be key to this new chapter of shared growth.
7. Will Youngevity products be available to Sunset Gourmet Consultants?
Yes! Sunset Gourmet Consultants now have access to Youngevity’s full product range, including over 2,000 items spanning nutrition, beauty, essential oils, and more. They also have access to Youngevity’s business-building tools, incentive trips, and promotions.
8. Can Youngevity Distributors access Sunset Gourmet products?
Yes. Youngevity customers and distributors in Canada can purchase Sunset Gourmet products through Youngevity’s Easy Eats™ webpage. Efforts are underway to make these available in the U.S. and other international markets.
Distributor Specifics
Do Sunset Gourmet Consultants need to open a Youngevity account to join? What is the cost?
All Sunset Gourmet Consultants will be automatically given a Youngevity account. You will be receiving an email with login information when your account transfers into the Youngevity system. There is no cost and no need to create a Youngevity account.
how do i access my youngevity account?
Use this link to get your new Youngevity ID and password. Please be sure to login and reset your password.
Will we be discounted at checkout or pay retail/full price and get paid commissions?
Product prices remain the same, and commissions will be paid out according to the Youngevity Compensation Plan. View price list HERE.
How will commissions be paid once transferred to the Youngevity Comp Plan?
Your commissions will continue to be paid through ACH processing. You can also change to Hyperwallet or a Canadian check, if you choose. These are available for set up in the Backoffice after you log into your new Youngevity account.
If we are being paid in U.S. currency, will we need to claim U.S. income and pay U.S. taxes?
No, Canadians do not need to claim U.S. income or file U.S. taxes. They will receive a T4A for Canadian income.
Will tariffs cause extra costs?
Tariffs have not affected selling prices so far; they are not consistent, and we have absorbed the cost. We are invested in having as many products manufactured by Canadians, for Canadians, locally in Canada.
Will prices be in U.S. dollars (USD) or Canadian dollars (CAD)? Are Sunset Gourmet prices changing?
Prices for Sunset Gourmet remain the same, for now. They will be in Canadian dollars (CAD).
Will the minimums remain the same?
The Youngevity plan is a little different; you will not have to make $200 in sales every six months to keep your status. You will need to review the requirements in order to earn commissions each month.
Will there be quotas to keep my account active?
You will need to qualify your account each month with a minimum order to get paid, which equates to about 100 QV points. Points can be earned in different ways, for example: each time you place an order, you earn qualifying points. This will all be explained in the comp plan training.
When does my comp plan change to a U.S. comp plan?
Commissions earned in July will be paid from Sunset Gourmet in August. Commissions earned after August 1 will be paid from Youngevity.
I only want to sell Sunset Gourmet. If nothing is changing, why do I have to be paid by Youngevity?
Effective August 1, the entire compensation plan is being changed to the Youngevity plan.
Will Sunset Gourmet’s ordering platform continue to look as it does now or will that change?
It will continue to look as it does now.
Will the website be Free?
The Youngevity website is free for Canadian Distributors. There is a $49.95 annual Distributor Renewal fee for U.S. Distributors.
The Sunset Gourmet website will continue to have a $9.95 monthly website fee, which is discounted with several enrollment options.
How often are commissions paid?
Youngevity’s weekly commissions are paid on Monday’s. They are calculate for Sunday – Saturday and are paid 2 weeks and 2 days later on Monday. Therefore, the schedule for August will be
August 1 – 2 paid on 8/18
August 3 – 9 paid on 8/25
August 10 – 16 paid on 9/1
August 17 – 23 paid on 9/8
August 24 – 30 paid on 9/15
Monthly commissions are paid on the 15th of the following month.
Will both accounts be linked in the background, no matter which site/account they order from?
The accounts are now linked in the background starting with August orders. You will see your Sunset orders in the Youngevity system by the next business day. Your Youngevity only orders will only be in the Youngevity system.
If a U.S. Customer wants to buy Sunset Gourmet products, what will they be charged?
Once available, U.S. customers can place their Sunset Gourmet order on the Youngevity site and would be charged in USD. Sunset Gourmet items will be available soon to the U.S. market.
Can I still host parties/vendor shows and be paid a rebate(commission)?
Yes! You will be paid under the Youngevity compensation plan, so it will look a bit different. Be sure to check out any comp plan trainings with Sean or review in the Resource Center.
Can I represent more than one company?
Yes, neither Sunset Gourmet nor Youngevity have restrictions on representing other companies.
Is our Discover the Reward Trip remaining?
Yes, and we will keep the requirements the same.
Does the 25% commission apply to both Sunset Gourmet sales and Youngevity sales?
The commission varies by product, anywhere from 25% to 35% on food/spice products. It is different for Youngevity products as well.
I understand Youngevity sells in stores. Does that mean our products will now be in stores?
Sunset Gourmet products will not be sold in retail stores. Youngevity does not sell in stores, but some distributors in Canada may sell Youngevity products on Amazon or other shopping channels, but never below the price available to everyone (and does not include free shipping).
Will we keep our Sunset Catalogue?
Yes, under the Sunset Gourmet brand. New products will be added in the future as well.
Are other products going to be manufactured in the Sunset Gourmet facility, i.e. YGY Easy Eats™?
Canadian manufacturers will produce the product for Youngevity; they will then be housed and shipped from the Sunset Gourmet distribution center.
Who will be our upline?
Your current uplines will remain intact. Perry and Audrey will also continue to be your support.
When can we start sponsoring in the U.S.? When can consultants start ordering Sunset Gourmet products in the U.S.?
You can sponsor in the US as soon as you have your Youngevity ID. Sunset Gourmet products will be available in the US sometime in August, more details to follow.
Where will the Youngevity products come from? Will shipping charges be comparable to what we have now?
Youngevity products are manufactured in several places, but mainly on the U.S. mainland. Youngevity shipping rates are 10% with a minimum of $8.50. However, if autoship is utilized, it may be free if you meet the requirement of $100 USD.
Will both Youngevity and Sunset Gourmet merge into one website?
That could happen, but it is not the intent to change that now.
Will Sunset Gourmet products be in Youngevity’s warehouse in the U.S.?
Yes, we are working to make that happen ASAP.
When is the Québec market open for us to build our teams?
You are now able to sponsor and sell in Quebec.
If a U.S. customer asks to buy Sunset Gourmet products, what should we tell them?
Currently, this product isn’t available in the U.S., but it will be coming soon. When it becomes available, they’ll be able to purchase using U.S. currency.
When will YGY Easy Eats™ be available for us at Sunset to sell?
Very soon, we are looking to make it available in August.
Can we start building our team in the U.S. and Mexico starting in August?
You are now able to sponsor in the U.S., Mexico, and any other country Youngevity is in.
For new Consultants who would like to join my Sunset Gourmet team, will they be joining Sunset Gourmet or Youngevity?
They will join your Sunset Gourmet team, which will be in the Youngevity family.
If we are selling Sunset Gourmet products through our Sunset website and also choose to sell Youngevity products as well, would we have to order from each website separately?
At this time, the purchases would be in separate websites. We are working to have them combined onto the Youngevity website in the future.
If someone on our team has a Sunset Gourmet account and a Youngevity account, should they keep both?
They could keep both, but we recommend they choose one to keep and work.
Will Canadian Youngevity distributors be able to sell Sunset products in the U.S. before Sunset Gourmet consultants can?
No, right now Sunset products are only available in Canada.
