Do you ever see the same person running down the street in the morning and wonder – how on earth do they find the motivation? Don’t they get bored? Are they insane? After all, who wakes up at 5 am every day to workout? These individuals aren’t crazy, they’ve simply found the fitness routine they enjoy. If you’re having trouble getting into a groove, we’ve got some tips to help you fall in love with a routine that works for you.
Find something you can do a few times a week
Maybe it’s running out your door for a morning jog before the kids wake up. Maybe it’s packing a gym bag and heading to a class straight after work. Pick something, try it for a few weeks, and then see if it’s something you can commit too.
Set alarms and reminders
The easiest way to get yourself out of working out is by sleeping in or forgetting to pack your gear. Get yourself prepared and don’t hit the snooze button more than once!
Join a group
Working out is easier and often more enjoyable when others are around. You encourage each other and keep each other accountable. Crossfit gyms, yoga studios, and running clubs are great places to meet others who are on your same wave length.
Set attainable goals to keep you motivated
Measurable progress is a great thing. When you can see that your work is paying off, it keeps you motivated. So, keep track of your running distances, your squat repetitions, or weight. When you can see how much stronger and faster you’re getting, you’ll start to enjoy it a whole lot more.
