Stress less and look your best this holiday season!
When you feel great, you look great and you stress less – It’s that simple. However, with holiday season underway, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. Whether you’re hosting holiday parties or attending them, there are plenty of details to consider. Before you know it, you may start feeling stressed and anxious.
Spend more time with your loved ones, stress less about the holidays and use these quick tips to help get you through the holidays:
Get plenty of rest. Too little sleep may cause restlessness and irritability. It may also put you at greater risk for diseases and health issues. Who wants to be sick or cranky during the holidays?
Stay hydrated. Drinking plenty of water helps to cleanse your body from the inside out! It may even help with weight regulation. A recent study showed that drinking just a few cups of water per day helped participants eat less “energy-dense, nutrient-poor foods” like junk food and sweets, which is great news for those of us who tend to overindulge during the holidays!
Exercise regularly. Studies have shown that exercise is a great way to relieve and manage stress levels. Choose a few exercises that you enjoy, and keep up with them each week. And that extra slice of pumpkin pie you just ate? No problem.
Plan ahead. Before you start drowning in wrapping paper, ribbons, and complicated holiday dishes, take a moment to make lists of everything you need to accomplish. The earlier you start, the less you’ll have to worry about later. A quick internet search will bring you dozens of predesigned lists to choose from: gift giving, menu planning, mailing lists for greeting cards, and more. Treat yourself. Go on, you deserve it! With all of the cooking, cleaning, eating, gift-wrapping, and socializing that comes along with the holidays, take time to do something just for you. Get a massage, buy yourself a gift, or just sit back and relax. The holidays are all about spreading love and cheer, so don’t forget about doing something nice for yourself, too!
While there are plenty of ways to look your best this season – new outfits, a fresh haircut, a mani-pedi – Self-care is at the top of our list! When you take the time to rest, hydrate, exercise, plan, indulge a little, and stress less you can really begin to enjoy the holidays.
