The Opportunity of Adversity

Opportunity of Adversity

Many times, it’s hard to see the silver lining when hard times come upon us. The last few months have no doubt presented a challenge, big or small, to all of us. Some are adapting to a new work or living situation, others are having trouble getting into a new routine. All our lives have changed. However, from difficult situations, we can learn, adapt, and create. Instead of focusing on the hardships, let’s put our energy towards what we can do!

Make New Plans

Let’s face it, any plans we may have for 2020 are probably out the door. Whether they’ve been cancelled, rescheduled, or modified, we’re having to think and organize in a completely different way – this a good thing! While it may seem like a setback, think of this as an opportunity to revamp. How can you improve on your business, travel plans, and everyday routines? Take time to do thorough research and see if what you initially wanted is still the right path.

Take Inventory

Start by taking inventory. Are there areas in your business or personal life that need a makeover? Now is the perfect time to see what things align with your new plans and what needs to be tossed out. These can be both material and non-material items. Make a list and see where you can consolidate and where you need to upgrade.

New Opportunities

This is great time to shake things up a little bit and even step outside your comfort zone. Find new ways to socialize, create a new way of managing your business, or do something you’ve always wanted to do. It’s quite evident that things may never go back to normal, so it’s time to pave new paths.

Find Peace in the Journey

Whatever you do, don’t consume yourself with dwelling on the past or waiting for things to change. Sitting back and thinking of cancelled plans, old jobs, and complaining about the current situation isn’t going to change anything. It’s important to focus on the present, find joy in these new times, and embrace and new opportunities.
