Summer is almost here, which means it’s time for delicious seasonal eats! We’re here to help you stay on track with your health goals and enjoy a flavorful, guilt-free summer. Here are some of our top favorite healthy recipes for each meal of the day (and snack breaks) to help you kick off the sunny season Youngevity style.

Breakfast

Quoting the old adage “breakfast is the most important meal of the day” is a great way to get your kids to eat their eggs in the morning, but it’s also a helpful reminder for the rest of us. Adult life is busy, and it’s all too easy to skip this meal when you’re running late.

Whether or not you’re a morning person, it’s important to fuel up for the day ahead. Skipping the first meal of the day may put you at increased risk of nutritional deficiency, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or obesity, and even mess with your circadian rhythm, throwing your whole day off.1 Start your day with our Berry Delicious Breakfast Bowl to fill up on beneficial protein, antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats and energize your day!

Coffee Break

Coffee lovers, did you know that in addition to providing us with a nice energy and alertness boost, our daily cup of joe may help us live longer, protect our liver, strengthen our DNA, and reduce our risk of developing chronic diseases like heart disease or diabetes?2 Just one more reason to love it!

While black coffee is the healthiest way to enjoy these benefits, sometimes you’re just craving something…more. Something fun! If you’re looking for a refreshing, summer-ready spin on your morning or afternoon cup of coffee, our Vanilla Coffee Shake is for you. This blended beverage is protein-packed and low-sugar, making it a great cravings buster!

Lunch

Long, sunny days = barbecue season! There’s nothing better than a char-grilled burger after a morning hiking or swimming at the pool; plus, the protein will keep you feeling fuller, longer, so you can keep the party going without unwanted cravings or energy crashes.3

This year, we’re swapping artificial ingredients, preservative-loaded sauces, and gluten-heavy buns for fresh spices and locally grown produce. Our Lettuce Wrapped Pepper Jack Burger recipe is bursting with fresh flavor, sans added sugars and extra carbs. Feel free to use it with your veggie or garden patty of choice!

SnackS

Food cravings are no joke. From unwanted weight gain and blood sugar spikes, to the nutrient-deficient, damaging ingredients and addictive nature of our favorite processed treats, snacking is doing us more harm than good.4

This is why we’ve dedicated entire sections of our website to programs, resources, and product lines that can help you fight cravings and achieve better health. You’ll love this Spicy Popcorn recipe that goes with our new YGY Easy Eats™ spice blends!

DINNER

Speaking of unwanted weight gain – dinnertime meal planning is super important for maintaining a healthy weight, especially with all those fun summer snacks tempting you everywhere you go. Eating a fiber-focused, portion-controlled meal early in the evening will help you feel sated until bedtime and not pack on the pounds like your favorite starchy, fatty foods tend to do. It’ll also help you avoid late-night cravings, which can make you gain weight too.5

Cleaning out the fridge and serving up something fabulous has never been easier, thanks to this fiber-packed Salsa Stuffed Peppers recipe. Grab your leftovers and let’s get cooking!

DESSERT

You deserve a treat, a dessert you don’t have to feel guilty about. We’ve got just what the doctor ordered: Mint Chocolate Chia Pudding! Enjoy everything you love about mint chip ice cream without the extra carbs or sugar, plus a boost of added nutrients.

Chia seeds have long been touted as a natural weight loss aid. They’re packed with fiber, EFA’s, antioxidants, protein, and they absorb water, helping your body stay extra hydrated – all of which support overall and metabolic health.6 They’re super versatile and easy to use in recipes; give them a shot this summer when you’re craving ice cream, pudding, and other creamy delights.
